About The Position
Ergon Asphalt Partners is seeking a Terminal Operator I to join its Roanoke, Virginia team. This entry-level, hands-on role supports terminal operations and helps ensure products are handled safely, efficiently, and to established standards. The position reports to the Terminal Manager and offers opportunities to learn multiple aspects of terminal operations. The work involves outdoor conditions and active physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliable, motivated, and eager to grow.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card if required.
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform active, hands-on work.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and have a valid driver's license.
- Employment offers are contingent upon pre-employment drug testing, background checks, and an MVR check.
Responsibilities
- Work safely and follow established procedures.
- Receive and connect railcars, steam lines, and unloading hoses.
- Monitor and record tank temperatures and measurements.
- Operate systems such as Order Weigh.
- Perform routine yard and equipment maintenance.
- Pull product samples as needed.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Collaborate with team members, customers, and vendors.
