About The Position

VMD Corp (VMD), an Xcelerate Solutions company, is seeking applications from existing personnel performing Terminal Operations Manager services at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). This role involves overseeing daily operations for screening passengers, baggage, and cargo to protect the traveling public. The position requires in-depth knowledge of TSA Security Screening Directives and Regulations, management of performance metrics, analysis for process improvements, and prioritization of safety, security, and customer service. It also involves developing stakeholder relationships, delegating tasks, monitoring performance, collaborating with TSA, scheduling personnel, and promoting screener development through feedback and assessment.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of management experience in aviation security, airport operations, or personnel security services (demonstrated experience in supervising personnel in a Federal government environment is highly desired) or 3 years as a certified Supervisory TSO (STSO) or higher position.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook (E-mail, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) at the intermediate to expert level required to generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables and correspondence.
  • Ability to gather, compile, review and analyze data required.
  • Ability to use sound judgement in resolving issues, knowing when to escalate them, and making recommendations.
  • Ability to oversee a team of 300+ employees.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an effective, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Be proficient in English (defined here as the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend, with fluency, any information that is presented in English).
  • Pass a pre-employment Drug Screening and submit to and pass random drug/alcohol testing.

  • Minimum Clearance to Start: Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Application of and in-depth knowledge of all current TSA Security Screening Directives and Regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures to manage passenger checkpoints and baggage screening areas with fidelity.
  • Management and support of the collection of various performance metrics.
  • Analysis of performance metrics and proposal of process improvements that will eliminate systemic or individual weaknesses, vulnerabilities, or inefficiencies in the screening process.
  • Prioritization of the safety and security of the traveling public while honoring their customer service needs.
  • Development of cooperative and collaborative relationships with all airport stakeholders.
  • Delegates tasks to direct reports to develop their skill sets and broaden their experience.
  • Monitor individual performance and provide frequent communication to promote leadership development.
  • Monitors screening operations and collaborates with TSA counterparts to ensure TSA policies and directives are adhered to and coordinates implementation of new TSA directives and procedures.
  • Scheduling of screening personnel.
  • Promotion of screener development through ongoing assessment of individual performance and provision of frequent feedback.
