About The Position

This position will manage the overall operations of the storage facility, towing sub-contractors as well as liaison with San Antonio Police Department to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations.

  • Possess an understanding of warehousing inventory best practices including location audits, cycle count procedures, full physical inventories, and reporting.
  • Possess intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, focusing on pivot tables and formula driven data analysis.
  • Possess solid understanding and use of facility KPI’s and PID’s with personnel to target and reduce waste, as well as foster employee engagement.
  • Possess High school graduate or G.E.D certificate.
  • Possess Valid Driver License.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak and communicate well with customers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Prefer the ability to write concise and accurate correspondence including reports.
  • Prefer knowledge of applicable laws/ordinances relating to vehicle titles; the language of court orders and possess the ability to gain knowledge on new laws or directives.
  • Prefer base knowledge of local, State and Federal employment laws to effectively manage staff.
  • Highly prefer Six-Sigma background including project work utilizing RIW’s and Lean principles.
  • Prefer background in warehousing or distribution facility management as Operations Manager or higher.
  • Knowledge of English language for spelling and proper word usage;
  • Knowledge of storage facility practices and pricing;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the laws and policies governing the vehicle storage industry;
  • Knowledge and proper usage of all equipment utilized at facility;

  • Ability to demonstrate proper decision making skills;

Responsibilities

  • Maintain security for the vehicle storage facility and the related personnel.
  • Maintain considerable knowledge of laws, procedures and requirements regulating vehicle storage operations.
  • Efficiently direct general activities through subordinate personnel for maximum productivity.
  • Investigate and document all incidents as they relate to vehicle storage operations and/or personnel.
  • Maintain responsibility for completion of necessary reports and forms.
  • Direct the maintenance of the storage facility, city vehicles and all moveable fixed assets.
  • Ensure that wreckers comply with all existing city and state laws and insurance regulations.
  • Maintain liaison with Contract Towing Office and San Antonio Police Department.
  • Oversee and ensure VMS’s training program and Policies for all sub-contractors is effectively implemented, revised and updated as necessary.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards.
