About The Position

This posting is for teachers with recall status and external applicants who are qualified to apply for vacancies. Teachers with recall status must use their Internal Profile to ensure their seniority is recognized. Applicants applying for multiple positions must rank them in order of preference. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) was established on April 1, 2018, to deliver the public school program in Nova Scotia, focusing on student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across 14 locations. Located in northeastern Nova Scotia, its jurisdiction covers Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond counties. Hired or recalled teachers will be required to participate in New Teacher training if they have not already done so.

Requirements

Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
Major/Minor in English
Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level
Excellent classroom and student management skills
Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning
Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor
Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment
