About The Position

Being a Scamp Counselor requires a person who is able to plan and carry out a daily program designed to meet the physical and developmental needs of a group of children. They must be responsible and have the ability to supervise all Scampers assigned to their group. This person must be sensitive to the needs of individual children and relate well to both children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, protection, and safety to assigned group of children.
• Consider and provide for the needs of the individual child in relationship to his cultural and socioeconomic background, emotional, or physical handicaps, individual style and space of learning.
• Respect the dignity and basic rights of each child.
• Make daily observation of the health of children, reporting conditions that require attention, and administer first aid treatment.
• Greet children and parents daily, making them feel welcomed and involved.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
• Keep play areas clean and organized.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
