Full-Time Tennis/Pickleball Professional
About The Position
JW Marriot Desert Springs is seeking a driven individual to join their team as a Full-Time Tennis/Pickleball Professional. This role involves delivering an exceptional tennis and pickleball experience through high-quality instruction and outstanding customer service. Responsibilities include teaching junior classes, private lessons, clinics, and special events. While the role is heavier on tennis, some pickleball hours will be required. A fantastic attitude is highly valued. The position is at a PBI site, and PBI concepts will be taught. Professionals will gain extensive group teaching experience across a variety of tennis subjects, making it a valuable opportunity for growth.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-year experience required.
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the staff may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment used are in English).
- Skill level equivalent to a minimum 4.0 USTA rating.
Nice To Haves
- Some tennis teaching is great, but a fantastic attitude is even more important.
- PBI concepts will be taught.
- Professionals will get a ton of group teaching experience on a wide variety of tennis subjects.
- This is a great proving ground for a tennis professional.
Responsibilities
- Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players.
- Assists in the promotion of and conducting Tennis and Pickleball clinics, private lessons, special events and programs to attract and maintain members’/guests’ Tennis and Pickleball interests.
- Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive Tennis and Pickleball lessons and programs to ensure students develop along a pathway that will encourage continued involvement in tennis.
- Assists in supervising play and ensures proper charging of fees.
- Ensure students understand tennis rules, scoring procedures, safety rules and tennis etiquette.
- Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property.
- Performs racquet stringing.
- Quickly and efficiently responds to member/guest questions, comments, and concerns.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Demonstrate positive attitude and actions through a display of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity and professionalism.
- Performs other duties as required.
