Part-Time Tennis/Pickleball Professional
About The Position
JW Marriot Desert Springs is seeking a Part-Time Tennis/Pickleball Professional. This role involves delivering an exceptional Tennis/Pickleball experience through high-quality instruction and outstanding customer service. Responsibilities include teaching junior classes, private lessons, clinics, and special events. The position will focus more on tennis but will include some pickleball hours. A fantastic attitude is highly valued. This is a PBI site where PBI concepts will be taught, focusing on fundamentals that work for every player. Professionals will gain extensive group teaching experience across various tennis subjects, making it a valuable opportunity for growth.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-year experience required.
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job.
- Skill level equivalent to a minimum 4.0 USTA rating.
Nice To Haves
- Some tennis teaching is great, but a fantastic attitude is even more important.
Responsibilities
- Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players.
- Assists in the promotion of and conducting Tennis and Pickleball clinics, private lessons, special events and programs to attract and maintain members’/guests’ Tennis and Pickleball interests.
- Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive Tennis and Pickleball lessons and programs to ensure students develop along a pathway that will encourage continued involvement in tennis.
- Assists in supervising play and ensures proper charging of fees.
- Ensure students understand tennis rules, scoring procedures, safety rules and tennis etiquette.
- Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property.
- Performs racquet stringing.
- Quickly and efficiently responds to member/guest questions, comments, and concerns.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Demonstrate positive attitude and actions through a display of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity and professionalism.
- Performs other duties as required.
