About The Position

USTA PNW is seeking passionate and motivated individuals to join their team as RecTennis Instructors and Site Directors. This role involves promoting and developing the growth of tennis by providing access for all, particularly focusing on youth, teens, adults, and multi-generational families through after-school and summer programs. The organization is a non-profit with a mission to positively impact communities and has been recognized as a Top Workplace. This position offers an opportunity to work in local parks, schools, and recreational centers, contributing to the USTA PNW's mission on and off the court.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching tennis is preferred.
  • To act as a Site Director, the employee must be 18+ years of age.
  • Experience working with children and adults in a teaching setting is preferred.
  • Dependability, communication skills, and an excellent work ethic.
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision.
  • Desire to work with children and act as a positive role model.
  • Ability to lead and direct participants activities and transitions.
  • Desire, passion, and ability to promote and grow the game of tennis.
  • Ability and comfort of collaborating and taking direction.
  • Must have the ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to make quick decisions that best serve participants.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals and projects.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, partners, vendors.
  • Must have the ability to continually pass a background check.
  • Must complete the USTA Safe Sport online education course.
  • Eligibility to be SafePlay approved and remain SafePlay approved through tenure at USTA PNW.
  • Must register within ADP Workforce Now (payroll platform) to ensure proper tax and payroll recording.
  • Authorization to work within the United States administered by a 3rd party vendor.
  • Must sign the USTA PNW Offer Letter, Employee Handbook, and all required policies and procedures upon hire and as needed.
  • Ability to fulfill the essential job functions as described with reasonable accommodations given.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming, safe, and fun learning environment for all participants.
  • Communicate professionally with parents, partners, and community organizers.
  • Implement program curriculum and provide on-going instruction and expertise at program sites.
  • Ensure equipment set-up and take down for each session, verifying equipment safety.
  • Store or transport equipment as necessary, potentially using personal vehicles if no secure on-site storage is available.
  • Check attendance roll for each session and obtain parent sign-off for session conclusion.
  • Stay at the site until all participants have been picked up by authorized personnel.
  • Perform marketing tasks as needed, such as hanging flyers and working at marketing events.
  • Represent and support USTA PNW facilities and NetGeneration products and services.
  • Follow and implement all USTA PNW procedures and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Site Director or Regional Manager of Recreational Tennis.
