About The Position

USTA PNW is seeking passionate and motivated individuals to join their team as RecTennis Instructors and Site Directors in local parks and schools. This role is ideal for those who want to make a positive impact on youth, teens, adults, and families through tennis programs. USTA PNW is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and developing tennis by providing access for all, serving thousands of members and participants across four states through community partnerships. Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years of age to act as a Site Director.
  • Dependability, communication skills, and an excellent work ethic.
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision.
  • Ability to lead and direct participants activities and transitions.
  • Ability and comfort of collaborating and taking direction.
  • Must have the ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to make quick decisions that best serve participants.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals and projects.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, partners, vendors.
  • Must complete the USTA Safe Sport online education course.
  • Eligibility to be SafePlay approved and remain SafePlay approved through tenure at USTA PNW.
  • Must register within ADP Workforce Now (payroll platform).
  • Authorization to work within the United States.
  • Must sign the USTA PNW Offer Letter, Employee Handbook, and all required policies and procedures.
  • Ability to fulfill the essential job functions as described with reasonable accommodations given.
  • Staff are responsible for the travel to and from the job site every work day.
  • Staff must have reliable transportation (bus, bike, personal vehicle, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching tennis is preferred.
  • Experience working with children and adults in a teaching setting is preferred.
  • Desire to work with children and act as a positive role model.
  • Desire, passion, and ability to promote and grow the game of tennis.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming, safe, and fun learning environment for all participants.
  • Communicate professionally with parents, partners, and community organizers.
  • Implement program curriculum and provide on-going instruction and expertise at program sites.
  • Ensure equipment set-up and take down for each session, and ensure all equipment is in safe condition.
  • Transport equipment in personal vehicles if there is no secure on-site storage.
  • Check attendance roll for each session and check-out with parent sign-off.
  • Stay at site until all participants have been picked up by authorized personnel.
  • Perform marketing tasks as needed, such as hanging flyers and working at marketing events.
  • Represent and support USTA PNW facilities and NetGeneration products and services.
  • Follow and implement all USTA PNW procedures and protocols.
  • Lead the day-to-day flow and direct Instructors (for Site Directors).
