Tennis Coach & PE Teacher
About The Position
The Elementary Tennis Coach & PE Teacher provides fun, engaging tennis classes for elementary school students across the Bay Area. The role leads classes for students in grades K–5, manages participation, and encourages physical activity in a supportive environment. Classes take place at various elementary schools, run for 1–1.5 hours, and start between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Coaches work two or more days per week for a maximum of 2–5 hours weekly. The position requires reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula, and candidates must be local to the U.S. or have a valid working visa; visa assistance is not provided.
Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Passion for working with children and creating a positive learning atmosphere.
- Strong communication skills and a resilient, positive attitude.
- Reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and be fully vaccinated.
- Must be local to the U.S. or possess a valid working visa; visa assistance is not provided.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience teaching or playing tennis.
- USPTA or PTR certification.
Responsibilities
- Manage classes of 8–16 students aged 5–10.
- Teach tennis using provided lesson plans to keep students engaged.
- Attend up to two days of unpaid training or shadowing to learn the program.
- Transport and set up tennis equipment for each class.
- Take attendance and manage student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
- Communicate with parents and school staff as needed.
- Provide constructive feedback on each student’s progress.
- Take photos of students during sessions to showcase their progress.
