Tennis and Physical Activity Instructor
About The Position
Provide fun and engaging tennis classes for elementary-school students across the Bay Area. Lead classes for students in grades K–5, manage their participation, and encourage physical activity in a supportive environment. Classes serve groups of 8–16 students aged 5–10 and use provided lesson plans. Instructors transport and set up tennis equipment, take attendance, manage student sign-in and sign-out, communicate with parents and school staff, give constructive feedback on student progress, and take photos during sessions. The position includes up to two days of unpaid training or shadowing. Classes last 1–1.5 hours and start between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work at least two days per week, for a maximum of 2–5 hours weekly, at various elementary schools across the Bay Area. Candidates must be local to the US or have a valid work visa; visa assistance is not provided.
Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years old.
- At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background check.
- Be fully vaccinated.
- Have reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
- Have a passion for working with children and creating a positive learning atmosphere.
- Have strong communication skills and a resilient, positive attitude.
- Be local to the US or possess a valid working visa.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in teaching or playing tennis.
- USPTA or PTR certification.
Responsibilities
