Requirements

  • Networking basics: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and simple routing.
  • Able to lift/move equipment (about 20–40 lbs).
  • Network+ or CCNA (or you’re actively working on one).
  • Comfort with cloud‑managed networking (Meraki, Cisco, Aruba).
  • Hands‑on lab/internship experience with routers/switches/Wi‑Fi.

Responsibilities

  • Stage and prep network gear (routers, switches, Wi‑Fi APs) so it arrives ready to plug in: unbox, label, configure, test, repack and ship.
  • Unbox routers, switches, modems/gateways, and Wi‑Fi access points.
  • Check shipments for damage, missing parts, and model/quantity mismatches.
  • Apply asset tags/labels and update inventory tracking.
  • Load standard configs provided by Network Engineering.
  • Connect to the staging network and onboard devices into cloud management (e.g., Meraki Dashboard / Aruba Central).
  • Set/store‑specific settings as instructed (WAN port, VLANs, SSIDs, IP/DHCP basics).
  • Upgrade firmware to approved versions.
  • Confirm devices check in, pull configs, and show healthy status in the dashboard.
  • Run basic checks (link lights, ping/traceroute, throughput sanity checks).
  • Verify config matches the template (VLAN/SSID naming, ports, addressing).
  • Log results and flag anything off‑template to a senior tech/engineer.
  • Make sure all accessories are in the box (power, antennas, mounts, cables).
  • Repack securely for shipment to stores, DCs, or field techs.
  • Keep accurate logs of what you staged, configured, tested, and shipped.
