About The Position

Does the thought of interacting with—and ensuring an amazing experience for—thousands of volunteers energize you? Are you customer-focused, organized, attentive to detail, and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you strongly believe that no one in Alameda County should go hungry? If you said yes to these questions, then please consider joining Alameda County Community Food Bank’s mission to end hunger and its root causes as our Temporary Volunteer Engagement Assistant! As a member of the Volunteer Engagement staff within the Development Division, the Temporary Volunteer Engagement Assistant will support the Food Bank’s efforts throughout the holiday season (~Sept through Dec./early January) to provide a meaningful experience to large numbers of volunteers, ensure communication with volunteers are timely, and help broaden community engagement opportunities. Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement & Marketing with oversite by the volunteer coordinators, this role works within the Volunteer Team to maintain a punctual and organized volunteer experience for all those who wish to serve. Alameda County Community Food Bank is a well-established and multi-faceted organization, which has been at the forefront of hunger relief efforts for 41 years. As one of the most efficient direct-impact organizations in the country, few nonprofits are as well-respected - or have a bigger impact on the community - as well as us. We are a dedicated group of mission-driven people who serve 1 in 4 county residents and will provide enough food for 50 million+ meals this year. But that barely scratches the surface of all our work. We’re changing lives, we’re forward thinkers who encourage innovation, we’re proud of our work and we’re having fun doing it!
