About The Position

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a temporary full-time Ultrasound Tech to work with its Diagnostic Imaging Department. Under the direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor, the Ultrasound Tech is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all ultrasound activities at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Ultrasound Technologists ensure the quality of services rendered is acceptable, confirm orders, document medical necessity, and pre-authorization on all ultrasound orders. The role involves providing care to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders and operating ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic procedures as directed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Junior College/Technical School required
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Certification required
  • AHA BLA required
  • Ability to skillfully operate US scanner and related patient support equipment is required

Nice To Haves

  • American Registration of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in Radiology and/or Sonography preferred
  • WV Medical Imagining License preferred
  • One year of position related experience preferred
  • Good working knowledge of anatomy, pathology, medical terminology and application software
  • Adherence to established procedure protocols
  • Working knowledge of all US examinations, exam preps and other information pertinent to placing orders and verifying appropriateness

Responsibilities
