About The Position

The Visual and Performing Arts Department at Worcester State University seeks a Temporary Theatre Technical Director for the fall semester. The T.D. will be responsible for: Creating construction drawings for the theatrical design, participating in and overseeing the communication and construction of the scenic design Facilitating the installation and dismantling of the design in a safe manner Working with the department faculty, staff, and chair to track of the scenic, sound and lighting budget for the season Maintaining scene shop equipment Maintaining property storage and inventory Maintaining the Fuller Theatre sound reinforcement system Maintaining theatrical video projection system Supervising student workers in the scene, lighting, and paint shop areas, including students completing lab hours and federal work study students Liaising with facilities and campus police as the safety officer/representative Acting as technical mentor/advisor to design/tech students on main stage and student productions. Assisting with other technical elements related to VPA Theatre designs as necessary
