ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Stationary Engineer for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located on Eareckson Air Station. This is a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule with 3 months on shift at a time, 1 month off, at Eareckson Air Station (EAS), located in Sheyma, AK. While working on-site housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility. All meals are furnished through the cafeteria. Transportation to EAS from Anchorage, AK is provided by government sponsored aircraft. This is a negotiated union position. This Temporary position will last up to 90 days. Summary/General Description of Job: The incumbent is responsible for the accomplishment of all assigned and assumed duties required in the operation and maintenance of the power plant. Essential Duties & Job Functions: Operates and maintains four 4.4-megawatt engine-driven generators located in the primary power plant. Operates and maintains 33 emergency standby generators ranging from 10kw to 500 kw. Maintains and exercises all generators and generator assets periodically to ensure continued reliability. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on auxiliary equipment, such as fuel oil transfer pumps, lube oil circulating pumps, centrifugal purifiers, circulating water pumps, fuel oil and lube oil systems, and soft water systems. Maintains proficiency in all areas of operations and maintenance. Ensures compliance with applicable safety regulations and practices. Maintains, repairs, and overhauls equipment to include disassembly, testing, and replacement of parts, fabrication, and reassembly. Operates a variety of pumps, valves, and motors. Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems. Performs related work as assigned.
