Works under immediate supervision to provide clerical and/or typing support in performance of variety of office duties which may be simple to moderately complex in nature. This position will assist with reagent preparation and a range of experimental procedures, including DNA molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, and large-scale DNA purification. Will conduct transfection-based experiments using HEK cell culture systems, including co-immunoprecipitation, Western blotting, and fluorescent and chemiluminescent assays. Will also perform protein purification and in vitro assays using purified reagents, maintain bacterial, insect, and mammalian cell cultures, and manage laboratory inventory by ordering necessary scientific supplies. In addition, will accurately record and document experimental data in accordance with established protocols, confer with the supervisor regarding results and adjust procedures as instructed, and perform other duties as assigned. Various administrative and clerical assignments filled on an as needed basis. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
