About The Position
This is a temporary appointment with a predetermined end date not to exceed 1 year and is subject to an earlier termination if necessary. Temporary employees have no entitlement or expectation of continued employment during or beyond the appointment period. The role involves assignment to patrol of housing areas, libraries, general patrol of other campus areas, parking enforcement, special events as needed, and other areas of the department as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Must complete Security Office I & II training requirements within 6 months of hire
- Must pass a criminal history, background, and fingerprint check
- A valid New Mexico driver’s license will be required
- Must be at least 18 years old
Nice To Haves
- Previous Level II Security Officer with the NMSU Police Department
- Previous law enforcement certification with favorable separation
Responsibilities
