Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, performs entry level work in landscaping, painting, carpentry, asphalt work and overall ground maintenance functions. This position will not be certified to operate a vehicle on their own within the Aeronautical Operation Area (AOA) of the airport which includes all ramps, taxiways and runways. This is a temporary position (90 days). More details of the position are as follows: Perform a wide variety of maintenance functions both airside and landside. Duties including but are not limited to moving equipment and machinery, mowing or cutting of grass, topping and pruning to trees, pavement repairs, joint and crack sealing, painting of aeronautical pavements and parking lots, repairing brick and block, concrete repairs. Receive instruction from Senior Staff to qualify them to use a variety of hand and power tools to complete assignments. They will also be instructed on how to perform preventative maintenance on equipment and associated tools. Perform routine building maintenance to roofs, windows, doors, ceilings, walls etc. They might also be required to perform routine painting, spackling and taping of such areas as required. Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Manager. The individual may also be called upon to work, irregular hours in the event of an emergency.
