An Introduction GVEA is an electric cooperative which owns and maintains 3,491 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 35 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, Clear Space Force Station, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. Requirements

  • High school graduate or the equivalent.
  • Experience in basic operation of janitorial equipment.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to collaborate within a team.
  • Must become an IBEW member within 30 days after employment.

Responsibilities

  • Support warehouse operations through an 8-week assignment focused on organizing inventory, relocating outdoor parts into cold storage, and assisting with general material handling activities.
  • Help maintain an organized, efficient, and safe work environment while supporting daily operational needs.
  • Contribute to a team-oriented environment while gaining hands-on experience in utility warehouse operations.
  • Responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of our coal power station and shop.
  • Ensure that all areas, including contractor trailers and the yard, are kept clean and orderly.
