About The Position

C&W Services is the industry leader in cutting-edge maintenance and janitorial programs for facilities ranging from corporate office portfolios and manufacturing plants to large public venues—keeping our client’s facility running smoothly all the time. This is a temporary position located in Blair, Nebraska, with a salary of up to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience. The hours are negotiable, ranging from full-time to part-time.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of grounds maintenance preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge and be trained to operate boom lifts, forklifts, and hand & power tools.
  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.
  • Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Work and direct personnel in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to "Safety First" expectations including PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Sanitation and cleaning of assigned areas following master cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Task completion with minimal supervision to task completion with ability to direct other team members, reliant upon assigned tasks and employee’s development.
  • Task completion with direct supervision to task completion without supervision, reliant upon assigned tasks and employee’s development.
  • Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, and snow blowers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on associated equipment within established standards.
  • Mow and edge lawns using power mowers and edgers.
  • Shovel snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots, and spread salt in those areas.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards/work procedures and provide work order feedback on discrepancies.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor and customer to accomplish assigned tasks and develop sound customer relations.
  • Maintain adherence to the published work schedule and be available to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shifts as required.
  • Assist in some maintenance, railroad, and groundwork such as mowing, trimming, landscaping, and snow removal.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work issues, personnel issues, and employee complaints.
  • Perform other work as defined by company and/or customer.
  • Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning.
  • Communicate with all team members to assist the development of short- and long-range planning in assist of the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safety, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
