About The Position

The Department of Public Health & Health Science at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites highly qualified, motivated, and well-organized, applicants for a pool temporary of part-time teaching appointments. CSUDH is seeking applications from candidates who can demonstrate experience in teaching and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and contribute to the University's Mission, Vision, and Core Values. Department of Public Health & Health Science has nearly 700 majors and is housed within the College of Health, Human Services and Nursing. This dynamic and rapidly growing program offers a B.S. degree in Health Science with concentrations in Community Health, Healthcare Management, and Radiologic and Imaging. A master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) program is currently under development for implementation in 2027. We are particularly interested in hiring qualified instructors with expertise in Radiologic and Imaging technology to support and expand the B.S. concentration area. The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled based on student enrollment and authorized funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends in mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
  • Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
  • The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised December 24, 2021, as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching.
