About The Position

Sotheby's is seeking Temporary Event Staff to support its Luxury Week event, a premier high jewelry and timepiece exhibition. This role is crucial for ensuring a seamless, high-touch client experience and assisting with the handling and presentation of valuable items. The position requires availability from June 10th to June 15th, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST in NYC.

Requirements

Ability to create a premier client experience in any environment.
People-centric demeanor with an ability to multi-task in a high traffic environment.
Previous experience in client service, luxury, or hospitality-driven industry.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a pleasant client service-oriented attitude.
Proven experience employing problem-solving skills when dealing with internal and external clients.
Team player with a positive working rapport with colleagues.
Ability to stand for entire shift required.
Appropriate professional attire required at all times during working hours.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in high jewelry/luxury timepieces.

Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for clients in person, assisting Client Services staff with language support, client and specialist liaison, and translating high-level exhibition information.
Maintain careful handling and security of all items, adhering to strict protocols for high-value assets.
Provide onsite support during dealer view and client-facing periods, ensuring a polished and seamless client experience.
Partner with internal teams to facilitate client interactions, assist with inquiries, and direct clients appropriately.
Assist with the release of property to clients and dealers, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and compliance with procedures.
Maintain a professional presence at all times, representing Sotheby’s brand standards in a high-touch, luxury environment.
Adhere to all security requirements, including background/credit check protocols and coordination with onsite security teams.
Follow strict dress code and conduct guidelines appropriate for a luxury client-facing environment.
Participate in required pre-event training (webinar or on-site) and comply with all event procedures.
