About The Position
Xcel Energy is seeking one or more Temporary Consolidated Collector Readers to be located at their Marshall Operations Center in Minneapolis, MN. This is a temporary, full-time position that could extend through the remainder of 2026. The role involves the disconnection and/or reconnection of gas and electric services, as well as the collection of delinquent accounts. Approximately 80% of the work will be performed outdoors. Responsibilities include notifying owners of past due accounts by posting buildings according to city ordinances, reading meters, and addressing billing inquiries. Additional duties involve checking seals, following up on self-reconnects and unknown users, and informing customers about their right to file for inability to pay protection during cold weather months, referring them to agencies for energy assistance.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
