About The Position

Candidate will have experience working with Temporal, building out the foundation across business partners and developers across a large enterprise and assist in leading initiatives as Temporal is being consumed. Focus, open source product called Temporal (vendor Temporal Cloud) as a strategic offering that they want to consume. This person will be the face of the team, customer interactions, other development teams will work with this, will on board them to the platform, best practices to use with Temporal. This is a 3rd level team, early standing up this team, good communicator, foundational member of this team, pressure.

Requirements

  • Must have Temporal experience.
  • Hands-on operational experience with Temporal at a large scale.
  • Good communication and technical skills.
  • Must have hands-on experience with the product - hosting it in your cloud, Temporal itself with integration with developer pipelines.
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with eventing and alerting.
  • Some scripting and development experience.
  • Experience with Amazon Step Functions or similar workflow orchestration products.
  • 5+ years in platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure engineering, with a track record of operating production distributed systems.
  • Deep, hands-on platform engineering experience across cloud, Kubernetes/OpenShift, or managed service environments.
  • Experience configuring enterprise SSO and integrating cloud services with identity providers, role mapping, service identities, and access controls.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and durable data, including availability, consistency, backup and recovery, retention, and performance trade-offs.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and GitOps (Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD or equivalent).
  • Production observability experience (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
  • Comfort operating a service across internal and vendor-owned boundaries and defining clear operational responsibilities.
  • Excellent judgment on reliability, security, and irreversible design trade-offs; able to work independently as a founding team member.
  • Hands-on experience with Temporal (or a comparable durable-execution / workflow engine such as Cadence) — administering or integrating the platform, not just building workflows against it.
  • Proficiency in Go.
  • Cloud, enterprise networking, private connectivity, identity, and managed-service integration depth.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Temporal SDKs (Java, Go, TypeScript).

Responsibilities

  • Building out the foundation of Temporal across business partners and developers in a large enterprise.
  • Leading initiatives as Temporal is being consumed.
  • Onboarding development teams to the Temporal platform.
  • Providing best practices for using Temporal.
  • Hands-on operational experience with Temporal at a large scale.
  • Customer interactions and acting as the face of the team.
  • Deploying and scaling containerized application runtimes on OpenShift or Kubernetes, including resource policies, autoscaling, networking, secrets, and GitOps promotion.
  • Running platforms as an internal shared service (multi-tenant, namespace isolation, developer enablement).
  • Establishing on-call practices and incident response for a new service.
