About The Position

The University of New Mexico's Department of Theatre and Dance in the College of Fine Arts is anticipating hiring Adjunct Faculty for the Fall 2026 Semester. These positions will involve teaching and/or developing upper and lower division courses as needed. Potential subject areas include Theatre Appreciation, Acting, Physical Theatre, Lighting for Theatre, Sound for Theatre, Dance Appreciation, Ballet, Modern, Flamenco, Hip Hop, Music for Dancers, Choreography, and Kinesiology. The number of positions available each semester is contingent upon student enrollment, the course offering matrix, and graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Selected candidates will report to the Department Chair. Adjunct faculty compensation is based on credentials and credit hour course loads.

Requirements

Master’s degree in the discipline or subfield; or
Successful completion of at least 18 graduate credit hours in an accredited program in the discipline or subfield; or
Ability to demonstrate tested experience that the Department of Theatre and Dance has determined to be equivalent to a Master’s degree in the discipline or subfield.
Provide Cover Letter, CV/Resume and transcripts of highest degree earned.
Official certification of successful completion of all degree requirements prior to their initial employment with UNM.
