About The Position

This role involves designing, setting up, and configuring complex Cisco switching and wireless networking environments. The analyst will maintain a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking and WAN, and assist in the design of multi-server environments. Responsibilities include managing assigned projects, responding to technical inquiries, and troubleshooting network hardware, software, telephones, and security systems. A strong understanding of internet workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM) is required, along with experience troubleshooting telephone systems and VOIP phones. The position requires participation in 24x7 on-call rotations.

Requirements

  • Experience with Cisco switching environments
  • Experience with Cisco wireless networking
  • Thorough understanding of Local Area Networking and WAN
  • Experience with multi-server environment design (IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, Ether-Channel)
  • Project management skills
  • Technical support experience
  • Troubleshooting network hardware and software
  • Troubleshooting telephone systems hardware/software, voicemail, digital sets and VOIP phones
  • Understanding of Internet workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM)

Responsibilities

  • Design, setup and configure complex Cisco switching environments
  • Design, setup and configure complex Cisco wireless networking that supports open or secured access
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking and WAN
  • Assist in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, Ether-Channel (Bonding), etc.
  • Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives
  • Responding to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors and etc. to provide technical assistance and support
  • Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, etc.)
  • Experience troubleshooting telephone systems hardware/software, voicemail, digital sets and VOIP phones
  • Support 24x7 On-call rotations
