About The Position

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is seeking a Temp Buyer to support the Corona operation. The Buyer will be responsible for providing sourcing assistance and pricing analysis on components. This role involves assisting in the negotiation of supplier pricing structures to achieve the best pricing for Fender while maintaining quality integrity.

Requirements

Bachelors of Business Administration with 2 years of experience in Purchasing or equivalent relevant work experience.
Knowledge of project management concepts.
Analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple suppliers, identify down-stream risks, reconcile conflicts, provide root-cause analysis, and decompose high-level information into details.
Experience with various forecasting models and communicating deviations from forecasted demand to suppliers.
Organizational skills to work with the vast array of information gathered during new product development, the analysis of that information and to cope with rapidly changing information while keeping / prioritizing deadlines.
Required experience with SAP or other leading ERP system.
Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Nice To Haves

Preferred procurement experience in fast paced retail manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Place demand driven Purchase Orders and expedite purchased parts delivery to meet production line requirements.
Manage open Purchase Orders to ensure suppliers are delivering to confirmed lead times for orders.
Partner in a cross-functional team (i.e. R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain) to locate and recommend prudent suppliers based on new product requirements.
Develop and implement analysis to support and communicate forecasts of parts driven by production order.
Provide analytical support for sourcing activities by performing spend analysis, feasibility analysis, cost/benefit analysis and process analysis.
