About The Position

The Process Integration and Yield Technician works in an electron microscopy lab supporting Intel's advanced technology development. The role prepares ultra-thin specimens and/or performs transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis in support of process and product development, qualification, and failure analysis. It uses dual-beam focused ion beam (FIB) equipment for TEM sample preparation and/or TEM tools for imaging and analysis. Work is performed according to general instructions and prioritization, with some judgment required to resolve non-standard problems. The technician maintains necessary records and reports, continues upgrading their skills, and performs other related duties as required or directed.

Requirements

At least one of the following: an associate's or bachelor's degree in a technical area (such as electrical, mechanical, electronics technology, or material science, or a comparable field); at least one year of hands-on laboratory and/or manufacturing experience; a technical certification; or at least one year of military-relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience with sample preparation using FIB/SEM and/or operating transmission electron microscopy (TEM) equipment.

Responsibilities

Prepare samples or perform imaging using advanced focused-ion-beam and/or transmission electron microscope tools in support of research and development.
Support engineering activities including fabrication, failure analysis, technology development, process development, and process integration.
Make ultra-thin specimens and/or conduct TEM analysis for process and product development, qualification, and failure analysis.
Maintain necessary records and reports.
Continue upgrading skills and learn from others.
Perform other related duties as required or directed.
