About The Position

Tellers are the face of the Bank and assist customers with account needs, promote bank products, and ensure balanced cash handling while supporting strong community relationships.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate Integrated Teller terminal with cash handling accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of Bank records and customer transactions.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Professional appearance and positive disposition with internal or external customer interactions.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior banking or cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accept deposits, verify cash and endorsements, and issue receipts.
  • Cash checks.
  • Cross-sell the Bank's services and products.
  • Process night deposit bags.
  • Issue bank checks or gift cards.
  • Accept loan payments and safe deposit box rental payments.
  • Answer customer inquiries and give balances.
  • Balance transactions at the end of the day and verify cash totals.
  • Review deposit file maintenance for accuracy and authenticity.
  • May assist Head Teller in training, vault maintenance, scheduling, branch opening and closing and ATM servicing.
  • Complete logs and forms utilized for Bank Secrecy Act compliance, such as Currency Transaction Reports, suspicious activity reporting forms, monetary instrument sales logs and logs for transactions of $3000 or more.
  • Complete funds availability hold notices in accordance with Bank and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete stop payments in accordance with Bank and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete ongoing job-specific Bank training, including compliance and BSA training as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
