About The Position

Following our recent transition into Banking, we are excited to hire a Teller for GreatAmerica Bank at the Hiawatha location. This role is a unique opportunity to help shape the GreatAmerica customer experience and support daily branch operations. The Teller is responsible for processing customer transactions, maintaining cash and ATM controls, and completing required daily, weekly, and monthly operational activities. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and security in all teller and branch capture activities while supporting branch operations through reporting, reconciliation, and proper documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to learn banking systems, procedures, and controls through on‑the‑job training.
  • Basic cash handling and transaction processing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and security requirements.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn banking systems.
  • Ability to manage routine daily tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify errors and escalate appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service, retail, or cash‑handling experience preferred.
  • Prior banking or teller experience helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, check orders, and related services.
  • Balance individual cash drawer daily and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Follow established cash handling, dual‑control, and security procedures at all times.
  • Assist with daily opening and closing teller procedures, including securing cash, drawers, and work areas.
  • Run daily Branch Capture work, confirm capture completion, and secure work in accordance with bank procedures.
  • Assist in processing and balancing ATM and night deposit activity using dual‑control procedures.
  • Identify and escalate transaction issues, system concerns, or customer questions to appropriate branch staff.
  • Complete required compliance documentation related to teller transactions, including internal Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), as needed.
  • Provide professional, courteous customer service while maintaining confidentiality of customer information.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked teller workstation.
