About The Position

This is a great entry-level opportunity for a Teller I/Universal Banker I at Millbury Federal Credit Union (MCU). The role reports to the AVP/Sr. Branch Manager and is supervised by the Assistant Branch Manager or assignee(s). The primary responsibility is to handle member transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing. The Teller I will also process other MCU services, comply with BSA requirements, reconcile cash and daily transactions, and perform duties such as ATM proof, coin machine operation, safe deposit access, and signature card filing. A key aspect of the role is to become knowledgeable about MCU products and services and actively share this knowledge with members to help them benefit from these opportunities. The position offers a positive, professional environment and emphasizes exceptional member service.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
Typing and adding machine skills.
General understanding of math, computers, and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Receiving deposits and withdrawals from members' accounts accurately.
Verifying ownership of accounts and checks accepted for deposit or negotiation.
Verifying availability of funds and using proper check holds as determined by policy.
Processing New Account deposits and accounts according to MCU policy and procedure.
Posting payments and payoffs to consumer loans.
Responding to computer downtime by working with off-line procedures and re-entry.
Fully utilizing Credit Union's computer capabilities.
Transacting other services offered according to procedure, including Money Orders, MCU Official checks, travelers’ checks, cash advances, coin, and others as required.
Reconciling cash and daily work to computer totals.
Assisting with branch proof.
Maintaining a secure teller station and line in accordance with Credit Union security policy.
Adhering to all relevant security, BSA, retail, and related policy and procedure as required in the scope of the job including SAR, OFAC, CTR, and confidentiality.
Providing a positive, professional environment for co-workers and members alike.
Demonstrating exceptional member service skills at all times.
Performing other duties as assigned.
