About The Position

The Telephone Services Representative answers a high volume of calls and transfers to the correct telephone extensions while prioritizing medical emergency Codes and STATS. Follows procedure to alert appropriate departments and authorities. Maintains on-calls statistics for multiple departments. Places outbound calls. Provides information (room #s, in house telephone numbers, hospital information, etc.) to customers. Overhead pages and approved announcements (for hospital). This position/department is the initial point of contact for all incoming calls to Sarasota Memorial Health Care System.

Requirements

Experienced in customer service.
Experienced in both incoming phone and outbound calls.
Ability to work with various hospital computer systems - must be able to operate these systems while on the phone.
Able to multi-task.
Provide excellent care and experience for all patients, families and customers at all times.

Nice To Haves

Previous computer skills, switchboard or receptionist experience.
Demonstrated basic typing skills.
Demonstrated basic understanding of medical terminology.
Demonstrated practical and technical knowledge relevant to the position.
Demonstrated customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate a multitude of tasks.
Multi phone line experience strongly preferred.
