About The Position

The switchboard operator is responsible for courteous and effective telephone, paging and inquiry services for the hospital.

Requirements

• At least one-year previous experience as a telephone operator or one-year receptionist experience essential
• Experience in windows environment essential
• Grade 12 education
• Accurate typing 40 words per minute
• Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written
• Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize workload, work independently and made effective decisions
• Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check

Nice To Haves

• Preferably in a health care setting
• Experience in the use of an ATD application preferred
• Medical Terminology certificate preferred
