This is a full-time Telephone Nurse Triage position within Atrium Health Wake Neurosurgery. The nurse will apply critical reasoning and clinical judgment to expedite appropriate care and treatment, assessing patients through telecommunication technologies such as telephone, fax, email, internet, or patient portal. Responsibilities include ensuring proper scheduling and follow-up on test results, using active listening skills, approved protocols, and evidence-based practice to explain test results and medications. The position also requires participation in professional development, focusing on patient safety and quality of nursing care, maintaining knowledge of care teams for coordination, adapting communication styles, and demonstrating exceptional assessment, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
