About The Position
Part Time Nights, 7pm-7am with every other weekend. The Telemetry Technician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. Performs telemetry monitoring to provide data for the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions.
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework
- CPR - Basic Life Support
- Candidates must successfully complete the required CDH Monitor Technician Exam prior to the interview. The exam includes multiple-choice questions as well as cardiac rhythm measurement and interpretation
Responsibilities
- Obtains and documents telemetry rhythm strips as directed
- Identifies significant rhythm changes such as lethal arrythmias and escalates promptly and appropriately
- Utilizes EPIC for necessary documentation as a telemetry monitor technician.
- Escalates telemetry related (examples: low battery levels, artifact, telemetry leads off, etc.) concerns utilizing the established escalation pathway
- Communicates telemetry related information with partners of the interdisciplinary team
- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors
- Assists the bedside staff troubleshoot monitoring equipment
