Telemetry Technician
About The Position
The Telemetry Technician (Monitor Technician) sets up equipment and continuously observes cardiac telemetry patients from a centralized station. The role supports an exceptional patient experience and family-centered care at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. The technician sets up telemetry equipment for new admissions, interprets and documents rhythm strips at regular intervals, reports cardiac arrhythmias or rhythm changes and pulse oximetry changes to the primary nurse, and helps maintain telemetry supplies. The successful applicant must complete the monitor technician credentialing process within the first three weeks of employment.

Responsibilities
- Set up telemetry equipment for new admissions according to established procedures.
- Interpret and document rhythm strips at regular intervals.
- Report cardiac arrhythmias or rhythm changes to the primary nurse.
- Report changes in pulse oximetry data to the primary nurse.
- Assist in maintaining telemetry supplies.
