About The Position
The professional Monitor Tech exhibits understanding of basic human needs as well as demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations. This is a fast-paced, teaching environment with growth opportunity.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
- Basic Understanding/ability to learn medical terminology.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment.
- Collects, reports, and documents patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately.
- Seeks assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure of rhythm(s) identification.
- Distinguishes and reports abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care.
- Processes admission and discharge or patients in system promptly. Prepares monitor for next patient admission.
- Notifies patient’s primary RN promptly of any changes in patient’s monitor view.
