About The Position

The Telemetry Technician is responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring, including real-time interpretation of ECG rhythms. This role plays a critical part in identifying arrhythmias, responding to life-threatening changes, and supporting patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. The technician works closely with the healthcare team to ensure that patients are continuously monitored and that any issues are addressed promptly.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Telemetry Technician Certification
• Completion of Dysrhythmia Course
• BLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Pediatric telemetry experience is required.
• Strong ECG analysis and arrhythmia recognition
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Perform 24/7 cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation for patients, ensuring continuous observation and accurate detection of abnormalities.
• Detect and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias. Initiate codes and communicate promptly with the clinical team.
• Conduct ECGs with proper electrode placement, ensuring proper documentation and analysis.
• Accurately document rhythms during emergencies and assist in the initiation of life-saving procedures.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and team members, sharing critical information about patient condition and test results.
• Maintain accurate records per facility standards. Enter and verify patient orders in the system.
• Operate telemetry monitoring equipment and troubleshoot any issues with the monitoring system.
