About The Position

This is a part-time position for a Telemetry PCT (Patient Care Technician) at Scotland Memorial Hospital. The role involves performing routine personal care, assisting patients with daily living activities, and supporting their mobility. The PCT will also be responsible for documenting care, observing infection control measures, performing clerical duties, and following patient safety guidelines. The position requires competency in age-specific care across the lifespan and a commitment to self-growth and education. The PCT will maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform other duties as delegated by a licensed nurse.

Requirements

  • Current North Carolina CNA listing
  • 1 Year CNA Experience
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine personal care and assists with activities of daily living for patients.
  • Assists patients with body mechanics such as: ambulation, turning, positioning, transfer to wheelchairs/stretchers, and assists with range of motion.
  • Performs special procedures as assigned and notifies the nurse of any abnormal findings.
  • Documents nursing assistant care provided to patients according to scope and nursing policy and procedure.
  • Observes infection control measures.
  • Performs clerical duties in maintaining reports and records of the patient care unit.
  • Performs other duties delegated by licensed nurse.
  • Follows patient safety guidelines (for example, patient identifiers, labeling specimens at the bedside, etc.).
  • Admits patients and assists in completing and recording admission data as applicable within scope and nursing policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development through the life span of the patient and the ability to meet the needs of and provide care for patients in various age categories (Neonatal/Infant, Pediatrics, Adolescence, Young Adult/Adult, Adult/Middle-Aged, Geriatric).
  • Responsible for self growth and education to maintain competence.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, orderly working area.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or required.
