About The Position

St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a 571-bed, not-for-profit hospital located in Phoenix, Arizona. The 7HLT - Observation Unit is a 21-bed unit with an additional 10 observation beds, providing care for patients with cardiac, medical, and surgical diagnoses. Nurses on this unit monitor and intervene for patients with conditions such as low-risk cardiac issues, general surgical, medical, orthopedic, low-risk neurosurgical, and low-risk congestive heart failure. The role involves providing quality, timely, and efficient care to short-stay patients in a fast-paced learning environment, fostering professional development and interdepartmental collaboration. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver compassionate, high-quality care, utilizing keen assessment skills, acute critical thinking, and a patient-first mindset. This role requires a sense of urgency and dedication to excellence to support patient recovery and career advancement.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse: AZ
  • One year recent acute care experience
  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues.
  • Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices.
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
  • Utilizes SBAR format tool to notify physicians, and other providers of clinical findings, performs nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside.
