About The Position

Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to join our ICU team. The Telemetry Monitor Technician works under the direction of professional nursing staff and plays an important role in patient safety and quality care. In this position, you will continuously observe cardiac monitors, recognize changes in cardiac rhythms, and promptly communicate significant findings to the nursing team for further assessment. This is a great opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and interested in growing their healthcare career. Previous experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply. Gateway Regional Medical Center provides basic dysrhythmia training to help you develop the skills needed to succeed in this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
  • Dependable and attentive to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously observe and monitor cardiac rhythms.
  • Identify and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms and communicate findings promptly to nursing staff.
  • Report significant rhythm changes for further investigation and assessment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge appropriate to the age and developmental needs of patients served.
  • Apply principles of growth and development when assessing patient monitoring needs.
  • Interpret monitoring information and data accurately.
  • Utilize skills and techniques appropriate to the practice of a telemetry monitor technician.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, patient safety, and timely communication.
