About The Position

Texas Health Telemetry Monitor Technicians require a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming practices, and ability to function in a fast paced, changing environment. This role involves demonstrating competency in the setup and use of telemetry monitoring equipment, collecting, reporting, and documenting patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately. The technician will distinguish and report abnormalities, initiate action to provide continuity of care, and ensure admission/dismissals are processed promptly. Communication of perceived risks to patient safety or immediate need for assistance is crucial, as is assisting with documentation that supports hospital and regulatory requirements. The position is located in the Central Monitor Room at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, a fast-paced, teaching environment with opportunities for growth and self-scheduling.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Basic understanding of medical terminology
• 1 year direct patient care experience involving telemetry monitoring and/or completion of educational program which includes telemetry monitoring.
• BCLS required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment.
