About The Position

Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for a Telemetry Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures Engineering Directorate. In this role, you will provide critical engineering expertise to the team responsible for performing pre-mission trajectory validation and performance analysis for flight test events, along with onsite expertise during flight events. You will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures (TC) program office with the development of ballistic missile target vehicles and aid the TC System Engineering team in all aspects of target design, analysis, and test, including requirements development and assessment, modeling and simulation, and test analysis and reporting. Your technical focus areas will include vehicle telemetry and mission analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient with MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, and other programming languages.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Active Secret security clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes.
  • Experience supporting MDA and/or DoD test events.
  • Experience with telemetry systems and data processing.
  • Experience in any or all of the following disciplines: Design, CAD, Trajectory, Radar Cross Section (RCS) Signatures, Optical Signatures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to communicate detailed technical information to technical and non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and operate telemetry data acquisition equipment during test events.
  • Perform vehicle telemetry data decommutation, reduction, conversions, etc.
  • Generate target vehicle visualizations, situational awareness displays, and reports/briefings.
  • Be a part of mission planning, analysis, and reporting activities.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team of experts in multiple technical areas to develop analysis and engineering tools.
  • Use knowledge, skills, and experience with missile characteristics (physical, kinematics, signatures) and engineering to support engineering activities and data product development.
