About The Position

EquipmentShare is hiring a Telematics Installer at its rental facility in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Telematics Installers install and repair the company’s telematics systems and devices on vehicles, construction and heavy equipment, and customer assets. The work involves installations ranging from basic power, ignition, and ground connections to complex wiring harnesses and access to vehicle and equipment CAN networks. The installer may operate machinery to test installations, travel to customer sites and regional EquipmentShare rental yards, and represent the company’s platform and brand in the field. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. The position may include on-call scheduling, occasional work outside business hours, and weekend work. Regional travel within a 250-mile radius may last up to a week at a time. The role is safety-sensitive and employment is contingent on passing a background check; a 10-panel drug screen is also required for this position. Clean-shaven status may be required at customer worksites with that rule. Requirements

Proficiency with iPhone/mobile phone technology and basic computer navigation.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with tools.
Hard-working, eager to learn, and mechanically inclined.
Own tools; some specialty tools will be provided.
Excellent attention to detail.
Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
Willingness to travel within a 250-mile radius of the local branch for up to a week at a time.
Ability to drive, maneuver in tight spaces, bend, squat, walk long distances, and lift more than 25 pounds.
Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen, as employment is contingent on passing it for this safety-sensitive position.

Nice To Haves

Trade school certificate.
Experience in a related field such as electrician, HVAC technician, or car audio installer.
Experience as a mobile electronics installer, automotive electronics technician, or 12V technician.
Prior telematics industry experience is not necessary; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Install and repair telematics systems and devices on vehicles, construction equipment, heavy equipment, and customer assets.
Operate machinery at times during installation to test functionality.
Remove and replace ignition systems without a custom keypad and controller, then integrate communication between keypad and telematics systems.
Complete installations ranging from basic power, ignition, and ground connections to complex wiring harnesses used to access vehicle and equipment CAN networks.
Identify and resolve problems, gather and analyze information, and develop alternative solutions when needed.
Travel to client sites and EquipmentShare rental yards around the region to perform installations.
Represent and advocate for the EquipmentShare platform, solutions, and brand while working in the field.
Occasionally work outside business hours and on weekends.
