This role involves conducting assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations, and wearing proper personal protective equipment. The technician will attend and complete required training, maintain awareness of industry technical changes, and keep a necessary set of tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer's specifications. Key responsibilities include performing safety and priority product updates, pulling SOS samples, and installing, troubleshooting, and repairing telematics components and safety systems on customer or company-owned equipment. The position requires working in a neat and orderly fashion, improving work methods, the work area, and safety standards, and maintaining the field service truck according to contamination control guidelines. Documentation of repairs and accounting for repair times using appropriate software is essential. The technician will monitor job expenses against standard jobs or defined repair scopes, informing the supervisor of any potential cost overruns. A positive approach, supportive conduct, and contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations are expected. Training and/or mentoring others in the department is also part of the role, along with performing other assigned duties.
