Telehealth Doctor - Contractor
About The Position
Alternaleaf is Australia’s largest telehealth provider, delivering safe and trusted services for over 200,000 patients. Founded in 2021 as part of Montu, our goal is to help Australians access alternative care with ease via telehealth consultations with experienced nurses and doctors. We are seeking experienced AHPRA registered Doctors to join our telehealth team as independent contractors. This is a fully remote position based in Australia, with flexible scheduling designed to accommodate your existing commitments. We are ideally seeking doctors who are available to work evening shifts between 5:00pm and 10:00pm AEST. However, we also offer flexibility and welcome applications from doctors with availability outside of these hours. The role involves delivering high-quality telehealth consultations across a diverse patient base, managing clinical assessments, prescriptions (S4 & S8), and follow-up consults. You will work closely with nurses and doctor support teams to streamline care, maintain complete documentation and compliance in a digital-first environment, and embrace digital tools to optimize patient outcomes and service efficiency. Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent and an unrestricted AHPRA registration (Minimum PGY4)
- Excellent time management with the ability to confidently manage 10 minute consults (4-6 patients/hour)
- Familiarity with privacy laws, RTPM, S8 regulation, and medico-legal obligations
- Strong clinical judgement, with an evidence-based and harm-reduction mindset
- Strong documentation/admin skills
- Experience working with multiple digital platforms and navigating tech efficiently
- Punctual, reliable and responsive qualities – you value team collaboration and patient continuity
