About The Position

Alternaleaf is Australia’s largest telehealth provider, delivering safe and trusted services for over 200,000 patients. Founded in 2021 as part of Montu, our goal is to help Australians access alternative care with ease via telehealth consultations with experienced nurses and doctors. This role is a Tasmanian-based, fully work-from-home position. Our doctors blend evidence-based practice with innovative approaches to support thousands of patients across Australia. We are seeking experienced AHPRA-registered doctors to join our telehealth team as independent contractors. This is a fully remote, Tasmanian-based role, ideally suited to doctors who can commit to around 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate your existing commitments. Our patient cohort is diverse, and this role requires doctors who are comfortable consulting across a broad range of presentations and age groups.

Requirements

MBBS or equivalent and an unrestricted AHPRA registration (Minimum PGY4)
Excellent time management with the ability to confidently manage 10 minute consults (4-6 patients/hour)
Familiarity with privacy laws, RTPM, S8 regulation, and medico-legal obligations
Strong clinical judgement, with an evidence-based and harm-reduction mindset
Strong documentation/admin skills
Experience working with multiple digital platforms and navigating tech efficiently
Punctual, reliable and responsive qualities – you value team collaboration and patient continuity

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality telehealth consultations across a diverse patient base, including patients under 25
Manage clinical assessments, prescriptions (S4 & S8), and follow-up consults
Work closely with nurses and doctor support teams to streamline care
Maintain complete documentation and compliance in a digital-first environment
Embrace digital tools to optimise patient outcomes and service efficiency
