About The Position

We are seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to support government facility projects requiring secure, reliable, and fully integrated telecommunications and IT infrastructure. This role will provide hands‑on technical coordination through design, construction, commissioning, and closeout phases supporting continuity‑of‑operations (COOP) and mission‑critical environments.

Requirements

Minimum 5–10 years of experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, or IT infrastructure for complex facilities
Demonstrated experience supporting government or public‑sector projects
Strong knowledge of telecom standards, testing, commissioning, and documentation
Experience working in active construction or renovation environments
Ability to interpret construction drawings and lead cross‑discipline coordination
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to pass background screening for sensitive facilities

Nice To Haves

Experience with secured, laboratory, or continuity‑of‑operations facilities
Familiarity with government IT coordination processes and agency standards
Industry certifications such as BICSI/RCDD, AVIXA, or equivalent

Responsibilities

Lead coordination of structured cabling, telecommunications, and network infrastructure
Oversee data, voice, fiber optic, and pathway installations
Coordinate MDF/IDF room layouts, server racks, and IT equipment requirements
Coordinate AV and conference room technology systems
Review and approve telecom shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and device layouts
Coordinate network connectivity for security, access control, and operational systems
Oversee cable testing, labeling, certification, and commissioning
Support emergency communications and continuity‑of‑operations systems
Coordinate closely with stakeholders, client IT representatives, designers, and subcontractors
Participate in progress meetings, quality control inspections, and final acceptance
