About The Position
The telecommunications operator provides a positive first impression to callers and matches his/her request to available resources/services. Serves as a resource to internal/external callers regarding the physicians, mission partners, and services associated with this OSF facility and region. Responds in a calm, professional manner in handling patient/family concerns and effectively uses a variety of communication methods to respond to emergency situations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience in phone systems work or customer service
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Keyboarding skills
- Knowledge of phone systems and basic computer software applications
Nice To Haves
- Prior switchboard operator experience, especially in a healthcare setting, 1-2 years.
